LG 32GK850G-B vs ASUS ROG Swift PG278Q 27"

I returned x2 of these, one with a stuck pixel and dust, and another one with dust under the panel. I expect these will make their way to B-Grade as they will certainly still sell them, just not as brand new. B-Grade CAN be perfect... i.e it could just be a damaged box, but you can certainly get monitors with dead/stuck pixels etc.

what do you mean by dust? how do you identify that? also how much did it cost you to return the panels?

Dirt under the panel. It's apparent as it appears soft, so not a clear pixel fault where you can see the hard edges, as you can with a stuck/dead one. It's possible this could be explained by something else, but a light grey-ish smudge is how it appears.

No cost for return as was deemed faulty.

oh so dust it deemed faulty and A dead pixel not faulty hence why you have to pay to return the monitor

so what did you get

It depends... I think they take each case on its merits. First one I had was much worse, stuck pixel AND dirt. Helps if you can provide pics, which I did.

I am waiting... no other monitor appeals right now.

rainforest stop selling them to

so what did you do after returning the LG monitor? did you get a working replacement or somthing else?

and im sure you had to return the monitor at your own cost?

The German rainforest still has them, but they are a bit more expensive. But they have a better returns policy so will stick with them for monitors from now on.

By the time they received it they were out of stock so they didn't have a replacement to send to me. So I paid at my own cost to send it back and got nothing in return - left a bad taste in my mouth. Costs loads to send back huge boxes like that (£43 from Northern Ireland with Parcel Force - should be cheaper from England).

Apparently a stuck pixel and a dead one next to it in the centre of the screen isn't a defect according to them! Hate buying monitors.

I'm not sure why they quibbled this as I had mine accepted. I am in the UK though, so obviously return costs weren't much from their side. Still, very unfair you had to pay that.

Yeah, they wouldn't budge. Ridiculous so I'm not going to use this site again.

well thats out of order, 2 faulty pixels in the middle of the screen is enough to put you off enjoyment using the monitor, you should have spoken to a returns manager,

ahh man thats out of order, I would have thought 2 dead pixels in the middle of the screen would be enough to put anyone off so should have been faulty, im pretty sure that OCUK have a policy against dead pixels, they say that the manufacturers class a few dead pixels as normal but OCUK had this thing where if there were any dead pixels on certain monitors they would be immediately replaced.

Maybe you should have spoken to a senior returns manager like Bailey, hes super cool and very understanding.

Think it was him I spoke to (I asked to be put through to a manager) after trying to get a refund for the postage when they didn't have a replacement to send.

Went round in circles with him just repeating it wasn't a defect because the manufacturers don't view it as one.

This is why the rainforest is dominating. Anything to do with defects they give you return postage to print out with no questions asked.

Stupid to be petty like this. I don't spend often on PC parts, buy when I do I'll spend a lot to get a top of the line system.

I'll just use the rainforest and other sites from now on. But didn't they do well saving £43!

Think that zero dead pixel policy only applies to the really expensive monitors. Not that that should matter... it's unacceptable on any new one out the box.

I agree and I think you've been treated quite shamefully to be honest. There should be zero stuck/dead pixel policy on any monitor, as said monitor is instantly devalued. It's no different to buying a new car and finding a big dent in it. "Sorry sir, it's within our 'three dent' policy so there's nothing we can do." Absurd.

I'm glad others agree :)

Yeah, and I love how self-serving it all is. Of course the manufacturers and the industry are going to set such low standards as they are the ones who will benefit from them.
