I just got one of these as a freebie with my new mobile phone contract and I am waiting for it to be delivered.

I'm just curious if anyone here has one of these and if so what they think of it.

I have read a lot of reviews but I prefer real world opinion over some reviewer that has probably used it for half an hour.

I'll be using it for both watching TV and for the 360 through the HDMI port so opinions from gamers with one would be nice.

It's labled full HD and according to the specs does 1080p but the LG specs start out with "HD Ready" so I am a bit confused by that.

I was under the impression that if it does 1080p then that is in fact Full HD.

Also there is a PCMCIA slot in the side of it where I assume some holder goes for our digital viewing card. Are these things supplied with it or do I have to try and find one of those as well?

You can look at the LG website for the full spec's.
As it's a freebie then it brilliant.
However i got the 37" LH4000 which is better courtsey of 100 mhz and LH3000 is at 50 mhz.
As i said it's a freebie so make the most of it.
As for HDMI, it wicked if you have a GFX with HDMI output. Can play movie from PC, games on PC with monitor but use TV for sound as it is better than the crappy PC soundcard and speakers.

whats the motion blur like?

I'm getting mixed reviews from the net some saying the motion blur is terrible in games and others saying it's unnoticable or nonexistent.

For gaming it will ber an xbox 360 running in 1080p via hdmi and I mainly play games like Rockband/Guitar Hero so sync is very important.

I picked up a 32LH2000 the same chassis but only 720P for our dining room for SD duties, the best thing with the LH series is that you can enable the USB to play avi,Divx,xvid,MKV720-1080P,jpeg's and MP3,s via a few tweaks in the service menu. For the money it is pretty damn good with excellent blacks for a low range TV and once you turn off a lot of the processing the image seems very stable. It even has 2 ISF spaces for your own calibration something my Panny Plasma lacks.

Nice to hear, but your model doesn't have the USB socket? neither does the 3000, but the 4000 and up does. LG says in their promotional material the 4000 only does jpeg and mp3, but great to hear it can be unlocked to play more than that.

For your information it does have a USB slot which is marked for updates via usb and that is what I have enabled as I have said above it enables those features!!!!!!! as can be done on all LH models that have a updates usb slot:rolleyes:

If you ask nicely I will tell you how :)

My 3000 does have the usb socket too

which firmware is yours? 3.15 and below it is simple to do, 3.40 involves flashing down to 3.15 then enabling the features before flashing back to 3.40.
Iv'e no idea mate, i don't use it much, but im thinking of getting the 37LH3000 for my gaming room, to replace my old Philips 32".

ah interesting, cheers. The USB service socket on the back. It's just that the 4000 and up have the official usb socket on the side jack specifically advertised for media playback. Didn't realise the back usb socket could be used like that.

Any input on how good it is for use as a pc monitor for pc gaming, video production, browsing, text clarity? would recommend over the Toshiba 32RV635DB ? Toshiba is cheaper and has some great feature for SD content but think I'd trust LG more for PC use.

I would be very interested in these service menu tweaks for divx. please do tell

---edit---

Got it sorted I had to downgrade the firmware first that's why I could not get it working.

I am now even more impressed with this TV

a little update for anyone wanting to try the divx playback trick.

Much to my surprise once DivX is enabled it also plays both x264 and full 1080HD .mkv files perfectly

Quick question for those that use this set as a PC monitor, my graphics card displays the sets native resolution as 1360x768. I thought it had a native resolution of 1920x1080. Any shed some light on this..
