LG 32UD99

thanks for the explanation Nexus - am now a bit worried that if LG can call something HDR10 when it's actually only part way there what's stopping ASUS/Acer doing the same with their monitors...

ASUS and Acer's upcoming 27" HDR monitors have the required hardware to achieve such brightness and/or black levels i.e. full array local dimming zones, decent guide on this here:

Essentially something that a lot of TV's have had for ages now. Should be pretty damn impressive considering that they are packing 384 zones into a 27" display.

Whats going on with the LG32UD99? It was supposed to be released a month ago and all the sites are showing as 'out of stock', but it doesn't look like anyone has ever had any stock. OC themselves said it would be here already, but no updates since then.

Has anyone seen anything by way of explanation? Is there any way of getting updates?

It's vaporware, at least for the time being much like the 30" OLED from Dell, we'll probably see it early next year.

You can at least buy the vaporware Dell OLED screen and I could have one here tomorrow if I had the money.
