LG 55" G1 OLED

Look, what I'm saying is only tongue in cheek but personally if I couldn't wall mount the TV I wouldn't buy a TV that was designed specifically to be wall mounted.

Easy said but does anyone offer the newer evo panel in a 'stand designed' package? I'm not sure anyone does yet, so if you want the new panel tech, the G1 is your only option anyway - I wouldn't avoid buying the G1 if I wanted the evo panel just because it was packaged up with wall mounts instead of a stand.

What you're effectively saying is "If I couldn't wall mount the G1, i'd rather buy a different model with the older screen tech in it rather than put the G1 on a stand"

That's exactly what I'm saying. :)

I think i'd rather just buy a stand and keep the better TV myself :p
Fair enough but there's a price premium on that TV for the design and mounting bracket and it's hardly like the picture on the older panels is horrible.

I'd rather save a grand but I can understand why someone would just want the newest tech. I've did it myself with PC stuff.

No doubt there's a small premium involved in the wall mount design but the price difference is only £500 to a C1, not £1000 and you'd still see most of that price difference with or without the wall mount design anyway I suspect, simply from being the next model up in the range (in this case with a better panel), the same way there's £200 between the A1, B1 and C1.

Isn't the G1 and C1 pretty much same display same picture, but you'd pay the premium for the G1 if you wanted a TV designed for a primary position on the wall?

No, the G1 gets the new evo panel, the C1 doesn't.

The G1 is currently the only LG TV that has that panel, if that's something you're particular about wanting. The G1 also happens to be designed with a recessed wall mount and bracket in the box, rather than a stand but that's not the only difference.

Not to keep flogging a dead horse but:

The LG C1 OLED and the LG G1 OLED are both excellent OLEDs. They have similar features and picture quality, except the G1 uses LG's new evo panel. It allows it to get brighter in HDR, making small highlights pop. The G1 also has a unique design meant to sit flush against the wall, and it doesn't come with a stand like the C1. The G1 has better accuracy, but this can vary between units. However, overall the TVs are very similar, and if you aren't going to wall-mount it, the C1 is likely the better choice for you.

Sorry, couldn't help myself. :D

Depends on price doesn't it, I've found a retailer where the G1 is cheaper than the C1 simply because they've got the G1 on their sale promotion while the C1 is not
Of course. Price, the cost of a decent stand and options for placement.
