I'm seriously impressed by this set. You can also wall mount it unlike the previous model.

I can see its on amazon for 2600 but I can get it with 5 years guarantee for 2100.

Should I pull the trigger on it?

Isn't this the one thats been review on AVForums and is now £2000? or is that a different model?

OLED will defo be my next tv

Yes and it's on sale everywhere that I've seen for £2000 with the 5 year warranty. Very tempted to pick one up myself as a replacement for my 42" Pioneer plasma. Had a play with one in John Lewis Friday evening and there was nothing that put me off it.

OK thanks for letting me know.

It's a very tempting proposition :D

My dad bought one of these over the weekend. Its due to arrive tomorrow and he wants me to go over and calibrate it so whilst im there i'll take a few photos.
He must have some confidence in the OLED tech as he's finally putting his aging Kuro to pasture! Looking forward to the 65" 4k version coming out next year as that'll be my next purchase if its as good is I hope.

Yeah In the shop when running the promo reel I found the image stunning.

I think I'll deliberate a bit more and then maybe pull the trigger, if next years model is going to be 4K at 65 inches it will probably be in the 3-4K mark won't it?

They already just brought out a 65" 4k OLED in the past month or so and it's priced at $10k. Next year they plan on pushing Quantum Dot TV's as OLED is still so expensive so i wouldn't be expecting any amazing prices in next years range either.

Think its due to come out at around £5.5 - £6k mark. Going by how quick the 55EC930 came down in price I would hope the 65EC970 will do the same. Would definitely take the plunge at £3k!
I'd pay more for a non curved version, I don't get want the benefit is at all

I've just paid £1899 for this TV.

EDIT

Was with HiSpek and a voucher to get an extra £100 off, the code no longer seems to be working.

Hmm, I'm not sure. The LG one keeps dropping to £1900 or so, but then heads straight back up to £2500 again.

Pretty surprised I got mine for £1900, just have to wait for delivery now. :(

Has your TV arrived yet? Interested in this TV myself mainly for blu ray /HD media playback and gaming via a PS4.

Anyone know anything on image retention with these or any disadvantages of OLED right now? Surely there's a catch somewhere?

From what i've read it's pretty much on par with what the way plasmas were towards the end of their life now. Still there slightly but nothing you'd particularly notice unless leaving on all day on the same channel with a logo, or menu etc.

Thats not a bad price for a OLED 1900 that is. Was almost going to get a reg 4k for 1300 but had to wait a bit - wife spent too much on other junk during christmas.
