Received an LG G2 today as an upgrade but it ended up being the puny 16GB one. Like the phone, deal is ok on EE 329.99 unlimited mins/text + 5GB data but 16GB is a bit low for my standards.

Id be happy keeping the phone if I could expand it with cloud storage, got Dropbox but only 2GB and Google Drive I end up uploading stuff manually which is a bit of a pain.

Any suggestions on an auto upload style cloud storage or will I end up sending the phone back?

Can you not buy an OTG cable and connect an SD card to it?

Ooooh, good thinking Batman. Now Google wont be able to see pictures of me in my "weekend attire".

Would it support it? I tend to root and Cyanogenmod my phones after about a week

I would think all phones on the market would nowadays. My old Samsung GS2 supports it.

Only thing i would say, it depends what you plan on storing "offline". I bought a USB OTG cable so I could watch films from a flash drive, but i found most of the MLC drives were a bit slow to read from. SLC works perfectly however.

May also be down to my phone being old.

Mostly photos Id guess, checked the storage and its got something like 10Gb in real terms so by the time a few albums and photos are on there its going to seem pretty full.

LOL. I was the person who answered your question originally :p.

I meant: get a 32GB SD card, connect it to the OTG cable and you're set :).

Sorry didnt notice. Got plenty of flash drives lying around so shouldnt be an issue, never really been too fond of the cloud for personal stuff like photos so until I sort out my own server Ill get by with OTG

Interesting device. Although quite pricey if you're not too fussed about the size of the "extra" plugged into your phone. If you are only backing up photos from your phone, get one for a flash drive. You can then easily transfer off to a PC then.

I am more than happy using Google drive on my 16gb G2. Photos can easily be auto backed up to Google + which fits under the same umbrella. 15gb of free storage but I ended up paying the £2 a month for 100gb. I don't feel any need to mess around with an Sd card adaptor. 16gb on the phone is more than enough storage to load the phone with media if you are going on holiday for a few days away from wifi. Even at that, everywhere has wifi unless your going to the Congo. An sd card adaptor solves the storage problem for your phone but Google drive has solved all my computing storage needs. Everything can be set automatically.
