LG G3 **discussion**

2 days wasn't the issue, a colleague could get easily 2 days out of a nexus 4 when I struggled to last a morning. 2 days with 5 hours screen time is more impressive though.

Agreed that would cover most uses - strange how most don't rate the battery life though and it was pretty much the key factor that made me go to the z3 - hence the interest. I can pretty much throw anything at the z3 phone and the battery just soaks it up which for me was the biggest factor coming from a nexus

You would think by now their would be an app that would allow comparison of different phones uses - although their are so many additional factors it would be very hard

I use my phone for all sorts.

Browsing the web, Facebook, Show box, HD Cinema, Youtube, Clash of Clans, Music and few other apps. I get a full days worth of charge and that's me leaving 4G on all day as i don't connect to wifi. And Sync. Brightness at 50%

I'm happy with that.

Although i am reasonably happy with the viewing figures i posted earlier, if im on 3/4G and surfing the net i loose approx 1% of battery every 2 minutes. I can literally sit there watching the battery percentage indicator decrease quickly in front of me.

I cant justify getting rid of the G3 so quickly after buying it, but once the new round of phones come out in April(ish), i hope to find a reasonably priced (second hand) Note 4.

Does anyone else find the G3 has bad signal issues. I have 4 phones in my house all on Tesco and all the others get a semi decent signal but the G3 is constantly dropping out and searching when all the others have a 3 bar signal.

It seems to have bad issues in weaker signal areas...

I own the G3, Note 3, Xperia Z Ultra and Nexus 5. I'm on EE, but I find the signal on the G3 is just as good, if not better than all of the others. I do live near the city centre though and I also haven't travelled too much with my G3 yet, but as of now I've had no signal problems whatsoever. :)

Mine is great if the signal is decent but with weaker signals the G3 seems to drop signal and search lots. My other phones seem happier to keep a connection with weaker signals. Bit of a pain but I can live with it.

Just tried the G3 with a couple of other sims and it's equally as bad on any network. My old Nokia sits at 3 bars with a 3G signal and the Daughters Moto G pretty much gets a full signal with 3G as well. The G3 struggles to get a signal at all and then looses it after a few seconds and has to re-scan.

I took this pic with the three phones using Tesco sims. The G3 could not get any signal at all.

I'm now thinking I will return the phone tbh. Considering 2 other devices are getting a decent signal and the G3 nothing it must be faulty but a quick google shows there to be issues with the G3 in weaker signal areas.

Shame really as it's superb otherwise but being able to use it as a phone is a bit of a necessity for me.

:(

I did look at the Z3 but it costs a fortune sim unlocked. The G3 offers quite a lot for the price just not a lot of signal which is a pain....

Yep I went through that pain as well. Was quite a big call to pay the extra £150 for the z3 - just had so much positive vibes in comparison. Ultimately its been a purchase I am very happy with - purchased within the last month having moved from a nexus 4.

If I was to have a gripe its the positioning of the power and magnetic charger being in the middle of the phone making the standard car holders not that great. The official sony charger though is great for the charging at night and even on really tough usage days the phone easily covers a day - which was my biggest issue (coming from N4).

These are on smartfonestore at the minute for £219 (grade A, boxed with accessories). Do you guys think its worth a go at that price as a backup phone/play phone? Was thinking either this or a nexus 5.

hi there, have you tried to flash a rom that is specifically built for your network and see if it improves reception?

mine doesnt have any problem and i get slightly better reception compared to a moto g 2014 running lollipop. Just saying

I swapped my note 3 for one of these today
It came on virgin media but its unlocked
At first as soon as i got home the signal was terrible and like the poster above it wouldnt register on the network
After messing about and entering the proper apn settings its been sitting at two to three bars for hours and hasnt dropped since
I normally really struggle at home for a signal but this is even better than my previous nokias and iphones
My note 3 struggled to get 1 bar and would constantly drop out
Love the size of this phone and also very impressed with the audio using aux out
Its pretty loud and i would say on par with my iphone 5
Was ready to bin it earlier but since signal sorted itself im very happy

Only my third phone this year lol
