Can't really find anything on this monitor beyond a brief mention on tftcentral and a few reddit threads. Hopefully Daniel can clarify specs and maybe even a release?

- 21:9
- 3840x1600 Res.
- 144Hz
- GSync
- HDR10
- Currently expected March 2019 (according to rumour) but I fully expect that to slip to Q1 2020.

That’s not an LG monitor as such, it’s a new panel being produced by LG Display. It’s not expected to go in to production until March 2019 at best, and so likely to be several months from there before any retail monitor is available using it. See full news piece first published about this at TFT central: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/news_archive/39.htm#panels_lgdisplay

Ah, right :( Do we have any idea if anyone has plans for using the panel then? I literally can't find anything on this other than the TFT Central mention and a few forum threads.. Seems perfect to upgrade from my XR34 ;)

I don't believe so, but obviously they don't make a panel without the view of it being utilised in an actual monitor lol! With these specs though, it looks like it could be insanely expensive however, so you will want to spend the next year saving anyway ha!

Been nothing announced yet that I’ve seen

Baddass you hear anything more about that 32" VA 4K 120 Hz Samsung panel that was suppose to go into production this past July? Seems to have fallen off the planet.

Breaking news from LG: the panel has 12:5 aspect ratio.

P.S. just trolling a little bit

that Res suggests 38"

I received some stuff about 2019 screens this morning, and there is something that looks like it is what you are talking about

I have asked for clarification, so I can give an idea of date and if its real or not

dan

Legend :]

Steady, I don't know how far I will get as I think we are 10 months away from this being available (at a guess), so I am not sure how willing they will be to tell me what I want to know, but it cannot be coincidence that I've seen a model that looks to be a 38" G-Sync, and the specs you mentioned scream out 38" in size........

the plot thickens lol

It's surely in the offing... although I shudder to think at the price! That panel exists after all, it's just a question as to overall spec. But yes, given how long the 34GK950G/F took from announcement to actual launch (still waiting), I think Q4 2019 could be the earliest we see it. I'd love to be wrong though, so more info very much welcome. :)

And the name of the panel suggests it's much closer to 37.5" than to 38".

What do you think?

yeah, I saw it and my eyes lit up

albeit the price is going to be a lot no doubt!

A 144Hz 3840 x 1600 panel has been on the roadmap for a while, but if you can confirm it, it would be the first official confirmation of a G-Sync variant. I'm guessing from the name this is basically a new revision of the LM375QW1 panel that was in the LG 38UC99 and Acer XR382CQK, so same size at 37.5" but 144Hz native vs that one being 75Hz plus Freesync.

Would be great to learn some more info... what kind of backlight it will have and what the HDR rating will be? Surely will have to utilise the G-Sync 1.4 module also? Sounds like this could be quite an epic monitor if the spec is right! Epic price to match though ha!
