Hi all,

A lot of people have been posting about the 55" version of this OLED and seems really good.

How does the 65" version perform is it just as good?

Will it work okay with a SONY soundbar via ARC?

Cheers

It's like strips down the screen a few inches in width, some panels have really dark ones that show up on light grey/blue backgrounds, just buy from somewhere reputable and you can return it in 30 days if it's noticeable.

I went from a Hisense K720 FALD 65 Curved to
LG Oled B7 55
I then got the LG Oled B6 65 due to noticing a big decrease in size.

As mentioned above, only difference I noticed was screen size.

Purchased from RS but unsure whether to check for any issues as I have noticed any yet under normal viewing but dont know if I could get it swapped if I notice an issue 6 months on.

Only issues I noticed was football where the ball was "stuttering" but switching to gaming mode fixed that.

I think the banding issues are overblown.

If you get a faulty screen, just get it replaced.

All screens have the potential to have issues, that’s what returns and warranties are for.

/love my 65 b7

Havent got a console but absolutely love it in the 65, everytime I sit down and watch something, even just on Sky HD I find myself thinking wow its such a nice TV. Definitely a step up from the 55 inch which was still very good but the size was also noticeable.

I also absolutely love my 65 b7 and despite paying £2500 for it I still think due to how much I use it and how good it looks I'm happy with it. (I usually suffer from buyers remorse a lot too!)

Cant comment on ARC as I'm using optical, sorry.

The only odd thing I have found is the back is absolutely filthy with finger prints and black marks, no idea how they got there or how it looks like that! swear I havent moved it that many times!

Ive got a Pionner LX-75 Amp / Monitor Audio Speakers & Sub - wont be using them yet as room is too small - in future will look at hooking them up

Its a good old amp - but not sure if it will work well with the modern equipment....

I'm using lexicon mc-8. No hdmi, no hdmi audio. It'll be fine.

I didn't want to start a new thread so I'm commenting to follow this one as I'm looking to buy the 65 B7 next Friday.... I've been holding out to see if it drops in price on the actual Black Friday day.

I just wanted to see if anyone has any opinions on other TV's I should be looking at too. I went to a local TV store and he kept pushing me to get the Sony A1 but that is an additional £800+ on top of the LG's price of £2700 which I don't really want to pay (and the missus was nearly sick in her own mouth at the prospect).

I will be mainly using the TV with my PS4 Pro (Xbox One X in the future) and Apple 4K, I don't really watch a lot of cable TV really.

Thanks people.

Don't be pushed by a Salesman, of course they want to sell you the more expensive TV.

At 65" the B7 is a no brainer. LG make all the OLED panels, they are the only manufacturer that includes Dolby Vision, they have Atmos passthrough on eARC etc and it's the cheapest.

I have a 65 B6 and it's great.

Nah I wasn't pushed as such. If I'm being honest he's more or less lost out on a sale as I went in there to sort the LGB7 from them rather than Currys or elsewhere and we came away with nothing.
The Sony A1 looked marginally better for the picture he had on a HD cable channel but it wasn't £800+ worth of difference, by marginally I mean if they weren't side by side running the same programme you wouldn't have noticed.

Have a check on HDTV Test. The Sony and Panasonic have better processing but not sure it's worth the extra they want.

Love my 65" B7. Can't see the point paying more for the Sony or Panny.

A slight amount of banding but it only shows up now and then.

I paid 2999 at JL then pricematched to 2850 just inside the 30 days. I'd guess there will be some decent deals around next week but who knows, just don't let my other half find out :p

The guy in the shop said that someone came in and spent 6 hours sorting the settings out both the TV's and he actually bought the A1 in the end... I don't know if he was ************ me or not?

When I got home I found this video and it seemed about right.....

Like I said to the shop guy even up to £200 more I'd have thought about it but over £800 then I think it's a non-starter.

P.S. What do you mean about banding please?

Deals are starting appear (Now 17/11/17) for the LG OLED55E7N for about £1499 after a £1000 discount from sellers and LG, I'm really really tempted to get one. I was going to hit the go but failed on a Samsung 55" KS7000 last year when I could have got it for £800 but this years MU series seems to get middling review compared to last years KS series and the Q7 is far too expensive for it is imo.
