LG SN7CY voice channel sounds... well, rubbish

The problem with soundbars and tiny speaker systems is the crossover is high up, and you're stuck. Typically you want each speaker to be able to play down to 80hz. Those Gallo mixeos and a soundbar won't. So that means crossover has to be set high, and that diverts <Hz from that speaker to the sub. It's likely a soundbar crossover is around 160hz which starts making sounds from the subwoofer quite noticeable.

Also the crossover isn't a brick wall it's a slope so it gradually goes down so you'll find a soundbar sub still playing bass at 180hz, 200hz etc

I quote Gallo correctly.

Whether Gallo are making inaccurate claims is THEIR issue, not mine.

Since they didn't have a +/- figure it's apparent that figure is suspect. Also by generalisation a small driver, small cabinet going that low? Nah.

I've been trying out some speakers that have bigger driver, bigger box and thet go down to 120hz

I'll type this next bit slowly so that there's less chance you'll miss it. Here we go..... I. Don't. Care.

I'm not here to argue whether or not Gallos figures are correct. In this instance..... I. Don't. Care. I'm not here to debate with you the ins and outs of how Gallo presents its figures on its own web site..... I. Don't. Care. It's a lifestyle product, and sold to people who look at audio gear rather than listen to it, and so the missing +/- isn't relevant because it won't matter to the typical buyers. They don't give a damn. They just want something small and neat. It's this or Bose, most likely, which says a lot about the market for this gear. After saying all that ..... I. Still. Don't. Care.

The only point; the only point; the only point relevant to this conversation is that small speakers with poor bass extension will rely on a sub to fill in voice. The Gallos are a case in point, and the article highlighting that in reality the Micros don't do much below 200Hz just goes to validate what I said originally and continued to say.

You've even agreed again! (You do realise that. Right?)

Ahh @lucid See you still in the trenches fighting the good fight. Do you remember the Rel convo you had with him all those years ago.

Amazon have recently added dialogue boost which could help with your current problem.

I don't have dialogue issues with my Sonos Arc and sub set up but I suspect that's a much bigger soundbar than yours with more drivers dedicated to voice.
