LG Soundbar Subwoofer (Broken) Options

My LG wireless subwoofer (S33A1-D) made a large bang and smoke started to come out of the unit so I quickly unplugged and waited a while for it to stop, when I reconnected it the bass is very weak and the sound is crackly.
I have stopped using it since the incident due to the possibility it might burn the house down :eek:

. My question is can I use a different LG subwoofer model that was not specific to my LG soundbar (NB3530A)? will this work? Or even better can I use a different manufacture as long as its a wireless sub? I just don't want to throw out the soundbar as it still works fine.

Dont see why not. Depends if you can get it to connect to the soundbar.

i think you would need to contact LG - it might work but i doubt it.
I have the same soundbar but can't remember if i had to 'pair' the subwoofer to the speakers - i assume i must have had to.

The simpler thing to do is look out for the same model sub on Ebay and other used gear sites.

There's one on Ebay right now.

It is collection only, nowhere near me.

maybe open the subwoofer up and see if its anything obvious?
you may be able to fix it.
