Hi all,

I'm not a technician, so this maybe pointless. I have an LG Soundbar and sub, the soundbar is fine, it's the BT sub that is the problem.
When I opened up the back I found a small blue capacitor that had blown off, I replaced this.
I have a meter and it looks like the SMPS is creating power, i just don't know why the element died.

I know the info is vague, If needed I can upload pics and provide more information. I just thought it was worth trying to look at before buying a new one, too much is thrown away these days.

Not a technician neither just from what you're saying... was there any smoke/burnt elements surrounding the capacitor by any chance as well? What about the fuse in the plug too?

Hi, yes there was a small burn mark. The 250v fuse is is, I've also replaced a couple of resistors which I thought were a bit suss.
It seems to output power to the board.

Typically when things die like this its multiple components, also its quite often not visible, could very easily be something small and silly or could be bad, impossible to say without having it looked at by someone that knows what they are doing unfortunately
