Lian-Li ATI Dragon Build Log (First Build)

A little update, as suggested I've done some work on tidying up the cabling at the back of the case using some P-clips. I didn't have enough though so only the 24-pin and 8-pin PSU connectors have been done - let me know what you think though! I also don't have any threaded holes on the left hand side of the case so might be a bit harder tidying those cables up!

I've also got better fans for the Megashadow now - Akasa Apache Blacks. Going to try some overclocking today :) I also moved the 8-pin PSU connector to loop round the top left to make things a bit tidier.

Really liking the braiding and colours there, something to be proud of. Forgive my ignorance but is that an SSD you have dangling there from the back of your HDD mounting rack o_O

Thanks :D Yeah it is an SSD - there are screws on the back of the SSD and many holes on the HDD mounting rack so it is actually screwed in, just at a funny angle :p

I haven't looked at getting a SSD bay converter for it - I quite like it there out of the way

How much clearence is there between the heatsink fan and the first slot of the Ram socket. As I've got this motherboard and I've had to mount my fan back to front opposing air blowing through rather sucking it through.

Regards

Basically none - the RAM is quite short and the fan is probably sitting a millimeter or two higher than it should be to clear the top of it - it's a bit of a pain to get the clips on. You can kind of see in the second photo of my last post that the fan actually covers the RAM!

I could see this being a problem for taller RAM chips and especially for the RAM coolers that all the cool kids seem to be using these days :D Just kidding - I'm really just jealous that I didn't spend all my cash on the black and red Dominator GT chips - they would have fit in nicely!

thanks for that. I've currently got the titan Fenir revison 2 and that is the same. I might invest in a corsair H50 kit

I have the non flashy version of this case and I'm glad I bought it over the mainstream Antec cases. It's just so damn LIGHT! Just picking it up takes one finger and no effort yet it feels solid and well built, this is one of the best cases Lian Li have every made.

Looking good Starky :)

Here is mine, still need to sort some wiring out & also waiting for a standard windowed side panel to arrive.

Could also do with a red 1000HX decal for the powersupply ;)
