As the title says
Just tried L-connect 3 and it failed in firmware update
There's a manual firmware solution on their site if this happens
This also fails
As when it scans it doesn't properly detect the controller
So won't proceed to flash it
So just be careful if you want to try L-connect 3
I now have 8 fans with no leds
And all running at 100% rpm very loudly

The software also will probably set off your anti virus
Even just extracting it
As they haven't digitally signed it

Just to update this
I can't fault lian li for their support
Given there's a big time zone difference
And over a weekend too
It's only taken 4 days or so to get it sorted
After a couple of emails they sent a more specialised flashing tool
And a firmware bin file
Though their instructions didn't actually work
But by unticking 1 option I got it to flash
And recover my controller
So it's a thumbs up to lian li for customer support

Having the same issue. Are you willing to pass on the tool or the contact info for the rep you talked with?
Also the MB you have does it happen to be Gigabyte? trying to narrow down the issue. So far it will brick on Win 10 or 11

Hi mate
Happy to pass on the tool
And firmware file
Got 1 for AL fans and 1 for previous fans
We're they SL or something?
And explain what part of the tool instructions
Didn't work for me
Though may not be on pc to get the files until later today or tonight
Yes Gigabyte x570 ultra
Though no idea if it's only an issue with Gigabyte
If its bricked then in device manager
Usb devices it should no longer show the controller
Mine previously showed al120 or similar
When bricked it turned into something like a 4 or 5 digit value with K in it
Can't remember specifically what it was
My memory is notoriously bad

Edit
Yes both windows 10 and 11 failed for me too

heres a link to the files

there may be extra files in there
as i unzipped stuff
and took some pictures for the support guy
the ones you use are
ectool thats the flash tool
ectool user manual is a powerpoint file
the 2 bin files have AL and SL in their names
so use whichever fans you have bin file

couple of issues with the user manual
round about step 4 when it says click xram
you might have to click or right click the 2 little arrows immediately to the right
of where it says xram before you will see what they say
around step 7 it doesnt explain how you actually bring up the flash menu
i think you have to click on tools up the top
and lastly if the flash is unsuccessful after you restarted
then i had to disconnect power/turn off psu
or take the sata cable out the lian li controller for a few seconds
then put it back in
go through the flash procedure again
but on the last steps untick the verify flash with bin file option
that cured it for me

hopefully that sorts it out for you
