Lian-Li PC V1000 PLUS II?

Hiya guys, will be ordering a Lian-Li PC V1000 PLUS in silver over the next few days, or maybe black.....still not 100% decided yet.
Anyway, i thought it was all clear cut till i found out that there was a Lian-Li PC V1000 PLUS II ! the only visable difference is the side fan, but just wondered if anyone new more about this, worth getting and will OcUk be getting them?

Any help would be nice here, cheers ;)
 
Nowhere in the UK stocks the v1000+II for under £200. The others may have them in, but it may be like the PC7+ and PC7+II that its pot luck which one you get for a few months.

Personally, unless your running SLI you want the v1000+, much easier to make a silent system that way and the side of the cases is not vandalised.

Both cases are as good as each other, if you really want to you can buy then fan holder and mod your side panel for an exhaust fan. :)
 
ah right thanks yewen, will go for the normal plus then, think it will have to be silver now aswell :p

Going to be a lot cooler than my thermaltake, needs cleaning out so often to keep it running cool ! :confused:

My original 'high end' case, but the cheaper SKULL version, you may notice a slight step up in quality. ;)

If you need help with fan configuration or anything just ask. :)
 
yeah original 'high end' one for me too, had this beast for about 6 years !

Going to get some Akasa fans for case and if the funds still have some life in them might look into a VFD or something :p

yeah sadly enough got it saved in a pic folder with all the rest of the examples of the v1000+ :p I just like the negative displays of some of the others, what kinda quality is the TR3a? the buttons on the side look a bit plastic?
 
Don't think they are plastic, I will check for you in five minutes and get back to you, they certainly do not look plasticy to me.
 
:p would be nice sometimes if OcUk had some better pics, was going to look on the Lian-Li site in a mo or for a review, just been checking that the heatpipe on the Asus board will be ok ;)
 
Well guys just got home to my goodies and OcUk have sent me a plus II !!! well i'm sure it is as its got the side fan, so 2 120mm fans in all !

p.s Yewn, thanks for convincing me that the v1000 was the case to go for, its gorgeous! :D :D
 
Quite something in person ain't they!

Very very nice cases, not quite sure what to do with mine as I can not quite bring myself to sell it. :(
 
why would you sell it? i kinda grow attached to stuff, not getting rid of my old Xaser, will just store it at work and use it for some server or something at some point.

What would you go for next?.....need to get another Akasa fan now as only bought 2 with the case :p

I LIke the black mesh for the side and rear fans, breaks up the silver nicely :cool:
 
Ive gotten a S80 if you check my thread on here. ;)

After this I have no idea. Will probably pick myself a Windy case up if I can find one in a skip. :o
 
ah yeah did see that you had one of those. Going to be a while till i change this one me thinks though!

Wish OcUk did the lian-li plates with cut-outs, i oculd keep my floppy then, just handy for bios stuff. ;)
 
Just thought i would post back with a pic of my v1000 all built up, goes like stink with the x1900xt (xtx speeds now ;) )

Still need some tidying around and in case, but need to get another cpu cooler (running stock one at mo) temps not bad with stock though, about 33deg.

i have a v2000b+2 and its a gorgous got it from a competitor so cant say where its from but i got it for £185 linkage to ocuk forum pics
 
I have also been looking at getting a new case mine is about four years old and was only about £30 when I got it so you can imagine how poor it is, but recently my PC as been radomly turning its self of and I can only think that is is a heat problem with all the hot weather we have been getting recently aswell, the case around the PSU is normally hot to the touch. Well anyway I really do like the look of the v1000+ how much cooling advantage do you get with the v1000+ II
 
The v1000+II would cool worse for me (I would not use the fan) as I like to just run a hot case that is silent, but if your running SLI the v1000+II is much better, if not then the normal +I version will be perfectly fine. I think you have a good chance of the new case from most retiallers now, just don't buy one that costs more than a normal + one. They will be the same box or very simmilar so the companies will advertise them most likely as just the + version.
