Hi,

Specs:

opty170
dfi sli dr mobo
zalman 9500led
2gig gskill ram
lian li pc7+
7900gtx
akasa fan controller
2x 120mm case fans atm

Just finished the build...

Inside cables are all over the place looks awful, I bought the transparent window also. I have pink strapping that came with my mobo and cable ties etc. I dont know anything about cable management. Are there any sites or guides you guys can point me in the direction of so I can tidy my new rig so it will look better inside and help with cooling also...

Thanks in advance...

Post up pictures as Noni says and one of us will be able to give you a hand.

Generic places to shove cables in the PC7+ are under the hard drive cage, behind the motherboard tray and in the 5" bays.

Should help you :)

I used the supplied cable tidy to help tidy the cables dropping vertically from PSU to Mobo and HDD to the right of the Mobo as you look at the picture.

Cables to left are tucked between 120mm fan and case.

Thats my next job, and connecting the frony usb and sound up etc. Not sure how thats gonna work seeing as I have an Audigy 2 card though.

There is a connector on the Audigy that you plug the audio onto. :)

Or just run a dual soundcard system like me. One for Games other for Windows use. :)

Wow, do not know where to start!

Firstly if you move the IDE cable and put it behind allt he other ones to the rear side of the 5" bays it shoud hide it a bit better.

Best way to do it IMO is unplug everything and route each cable so its out of sight. Back of motherboard and secure with tape is your best bet!

Yeh on a second look I think Noni is spot on with that.

Make sure not to cross the cables over, or you end up with what you have. :p

Do each cable sepereately, and route it individually, will take a hour or two but it lasts for ages. :)

i have a sleeving kit

with 20 plastic ties and sleeving etc...

a) you see the big sleeve around the outside I guess I can cut that down to size as per my requirements? pls confirm

b) I have also got 2 pieces of thicker sleeving there as you can see, what is that for? pls confirm

and i have the plastic ties as said above...

ok so ive managed to hide the ide cable to my cd rom behind the 5" bays...whats next?

thanks for your help guys im really appreciate it...

Just to show off, heres my attempt with no mobo tray (the other side panel is riveted on).

It sucks, but hey, I like it! You just really want to keep all the cables together. Zip ties are heaven!

noni is that a mesh case?

Yewen - Disappointed with the number of fingerprints :D

Indeed it is, with a tagan modular PSU and a Passive NB cooler on the MBoard.

Also the obvious zalman cooler!

Thanks.
