Lian-LI V300 Review

Good point about the 40mm fans. Someone did have an idea of fitting what i think was a Thermaltake cross flow fan which would fit in the ok, though not sure what it would be like clashing with the CPU cooler.

Yes both side panels are fixed with 6 screws each.

Cost.... well my mum was in the states at the time so i got it ordered from there. Cost me $94.99 ($105) with postage, which works out to be around £60 (£65 with postage) which i thought was a steal. Also i do believe im the first person in the UK to own this case :)

I wanted black, i always gone for black cases as they look the business. but with the black case, the inside is still silver so you can see silver through the front and it still looked ok but it would have bugged me to no end.

Also to all you worriers out there. It will indeed fit a dual radiator in the front. The Black Ice® GT Stealth 240 XFlow is 292mm wide, and the case is 300mm wide, So its a nice snug fit. Also the depth fits in well as its only 30mm thick which with the fans leaves you with 15mm space between the front and the motherboard tray.
If you mount the rad in front of the fans so its up the front then you shouldnt have the barbs clashing with any of the components.

Hope this helps you guys out :)

Cool if its fits OK, the Lian Li website has the case size as 280*250*353 mm(W,H,D), and the photo posted with the amber fan on front looks about right to scale with the 280mm size ???

Grats mate, looks like a very nice case. I got a V-600B not long ago, and although it's a totally different design, i think all the new Lian-Li's are excellent.

Edit~ i could have offered you a TC120.2 rad which i have never used but i just measured and it's 300mm :(

The GT 240 and BIP2 are both 277mm long, the BIX2 is slightly shorter at 273mm but the barbs are closer to the end so with tubing on it would be very similar.
Swiftech and Thermochill are both larger.

I'd make a full sized card template to be certain before unleashing the dremel.

Nice pics, I may post some of my black one later, just got back from Florida, not slept in 21 hours and don't feel like sleeping now.
Went for black since I know what it looks like, should go nicely next to my V1000B+, the silver insides only really show in photo's or looking directly into the front.
I'll definetly be watching to see if you fit water cooling in there.
I too still need the bits to go inside it

Here we go, not the greatest pics but it gives some comparison.

I need a bigger desk :o

The onl problem I see with that case is that the intake fans dont point where the hard disk caddy is situated :/

Other than that, i really like that case. Having a V2000+ already, im a big lian li fan.

This sickens me! I hope they're fairly similar price here, although i know they wont be :(

Herminator - i wasn't sure how the black would look due to what you say about being able to see the silver. Think i've changed my mind after those pics tho.

Looks like such a great case. Can't wait to be able to get it.

What is the hard drive cooling?

great review, the only thing that lets it down is the 2nd rate rule you use. A nice anodised steel 1 would have been in keeping! Keep us informed how it goes.

Just to confirm lads, you can only use micro atx mobo's with these not normal ones? My MSI K8N Neo4 platinum wouldnt fit in right?

Nixeh- Did you have any problem with the side panel screws?

I've found mine can be quite tricky to remove, they have sort of welded themselfs in (a problem I've encountered before in another situation) The alluminium reacts a bit with the screw, it means you get a definate "snap" when the screw starts moving.
A few screws have been very difficult, almost stripped one screw head and I've currently got one screw that I can't shift without completely messing it up. :(

is there a chance of some pics with kit in? (especially motherboard) i have a cunning plan that really requires a lottery win but i want to see if it is possible first ;)
