libraries and librarians

Libraries are primarily for the less well off so I feel that kindle and other ebook readers are unlikely to have a huge effect on Libraries

However the internet which is available to the vast majority of people (sometimes via a library) almost certainly has affected Libraries. Internet use coupled with crazy illiteracy (ironic that I couldn't spell that word) rates makes me think that libraries in their current form are likely to die out and be replaced by a sort of council internet cafe.

Drm, seems you get upto 3 weeks, before it disappears or more likely locks you out.

I hope payday is good. I want a nook simple touch.

But some publishers seem to think you should only be able to rent out an ebook 25 times before you have to buy it again, as that's what they reckon they would have got out of a paper book. I don't understand how they can't understand how utterly asinine that point of view is, they pay nothing in production, storage or transportation and they still think they should get the same amount for it?
