I've been offered my old PC from work. It will come with Windows XP installed and I wondered how I stand with the license?

The chances are it will be OEM and you will be licenced. You can check this by seeing if there is a COA on the case.

Just had a look and there is a sticker with the Product Key on the side of the PC so thats good. Its got XP PRO loaded but doesn't come with any disks.
When I get it home I want to fit a new hard drive reformat it and start from a clean install. I've got my own (fully legal) XP PRO Retail Disc at home so can I use this to reintall the OS and use the Product Key off the PC? If not how can I reinstall a legal OS?

An XP Pro Reatil disc will not accept an OEM licence key, you need to aquire a standard XP Pro OEM disc from somewhere, or talk to the OEM to see if they can supply media.
