So basically Playstation owners are getting Weather Channels and News Channels in a revolving earth, sounds familiar?

It looks very cool i think and will be quite useful. I always liked the weather channel on the Wii. Probably cause i wished i was in all the locations i checked

Looks rubbish to me, but then, i mentioned it to my dad who decided it was a brilliant idea. I guess this app is geared towards the same sort of people that would want to buy it as a cheap and easy blu-ray player/media center (ie. my parents).

if you watch the news then you can pick the news you want to watch

so its ideal for some

way i see it is its another feature on the ps3 - which cant be bad

now they need to make music playback capable in games rather than this

games like skate where i would have liked to play with my own tracklist i ended up getting for my xbox so i could stream from my pc

I hope they don't start bloating the Xbox with garbage like this.

(Not a dig at the PS3 or anything, just would be annoyed with this feature)

which in my case is more innovation, variety & choice for users, plus it's an addition to the ps3's media capabilities - this may not interest everyone but I'm sure the r&d put into this can benefit other projects aswell.

You of course realise you are referring to different parts of the company - firmware writers very rarely are responsible for game dev

Try reading peoples posts before you roll your eyes. Its the development of features when even the most basic stuff isn't available yet thats annoying.

You don't know a lot about the ps3 do you ? Do you have one ?

The friends list has been increased to 100 ( feature that was wanted ) and in game xmb ( cross game invites, friends list access and more ) along with custom soundtracks are a only a few weeks away with 2.4.

And this new feature along with the movie download service and home easily surpasses the 360 feature list ........... and its free.

It is becoming a lot easier to spot the bitter 360 fanboys these days ...... I love the fact I have all the consoles and especially happy to be a ps3 owner at this time as all the promise starts to be delivered.

It is custom music which is coming in around 3 weeks ( E3 ) shamikebab doesn't know what he is talking about.
