Life without Breaking Bad

^ Hannibal, although it's just finished season 2. :(

Still, I have downloaded Prison Break seasons 1-4 and I'm going through that, it's really enjoyable.

I've just recently finished breaking bad for the first time (been watching bits of it for ages but never got to the end) and my life now feel's like there is a piece missing. It truly was one of the best TV series I have ever watched. Now I'm trying to feel the empty space after breaking bad and everything else just seems not up to the same standard.

I'm guessing my best bet is to just watch better call saul? :(

No ones mentioned True Detective yet in here

Season 1 was fantastic, though there were bits of the last episode that probably weren't up to par compared with the rest of the season

season 2 was still good but no where near season 1 and generally went way OTT with the killings

Just some of the screencaps for TD look amazing

Same director some of the cast, it is well done. Not quite to the level of BB but it may fill the space some, they do have some strong characters in there and they are building them up slowly just its not quite the level of Walt and Jesse yet. I never liked BB first episodes tbh
Apparently VG did lone gunmen which I never watched as it looked silly especially after xfiles itself derailed after losing a script writer I think it was

Met some people across the road a yr or so ago that seemed decent enough at the time. Told em to watch Breaking bad, they did, got into a series or two and said they found it boring so stopped watching it.

WTF ??????????????????????????????????????

Needless to say, i no longer speak to them !

Breaking bad is the first TV series in a long that I feel genuinely sad that it ended.

It's going to take a while to get over it.:(

I have just started watching better call saul, which is somewhat easing the transition.

Took me a while series and a bit into the second series until I got into BB. Enjoyed it immensely from then on. I stuck with it through the less enjoyable stage as a few colleagues said overall it was very good and got better and am glad that I did.

Probably a bit old now but I really enjoyed Dexter, even the last series that many didn't enjoy although I put that down to most people not liking the ending most never predicted.

Did anyone try watching the BB spinnoff about the dodgy lawyer? Sal

Yeah I have just started watching better call Saul, and so far it seems pretty good. There is a dedicated thread for it in the US TV shows sub-forum but it has spoilers, so I'm avoiding it for now.

The Leftovers. I was going to type something like, "Just watch it and you'll see what I mean", but it needs a bit more than that. The Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Lost, Fargo have been some of the most engrossing and rewarding TV I've ever seen and The Leftovers is happily sitting amongst that, for me. When you have ensemble casts whose characters have such rich backstories that a single phrase can trigger a whole load of flashbacks about their lives. ("It's a retirement community!", "I've won", "We have to go back, Kate", "Is this what you want, Lester?").

The Leftovers just grabs you, and with a similarly large cast of characters, the slightest comment reveals a whole lot of "Wooooah". It will knock you sideways.

Wire, watched season 1, and kind of stopped there. Trying to find the time to start season 2, and see if its as good as everyone says so.. I find the characters and script a little hard to follow. Takes a while before you know who's who. I must force myself to get into season 2.

Better Call Saul.. Waiting for season 2 to end, so i can hit it in one session without the damn commercials. Struggle to watch anything with ads these days. So have been recording on DVR, will hit the season all in one hit, and will just fast forward the commercials.. or d/l ;)

Hehe. I recently watched it and it's no doubt great TV.

However, it's a show I doubt I'll watch again. For me it was perfect while it lasted but there's no re watch value in it for me.

The Wire, now that I can watch again and again.

The characters on Wire can be hard to follow. I'm about to finish Season 5 and still don't know who some of the names are they mention. Even had to pause on occasion and google some names to see how they tie in.
