life

Maybe a little perspective on life problems, and i dont see him moaning and feeling sorry for himself:

may contain swearing

You can't just compare complex mental problems with other dramatic issues and discount anything as trivial that doesn't match up in your eyes, that doesn't change anything for the person suffering.

You need to read up on depression.

Kwerk do you have any understanding of depression? An infliction of the mind is no different to a heart attack, influenza or any other disease. Would you tell someone having a heart attack to "Nut the **** up"?

What does this actually mean? I see it everywhere but I don't understand it?

OP - you're not going to get much sympathy on here, there are a few posts worthy of reading but try to ignore the macho bull.

I've read what I think you originally posted (via others who have quoted you), and I suggest you seek some professional advice from a GP who can refer you, or perhaps have a chat with a Samaritan.

Good luck. :)

Same for that "worst month of my life" thread.

What are you lot saudi princes or something? These are not real problems. I cant believe how sheltered some people here seem to have lived.

Being 100% completely and utterly honest right now: Go and **** yourself.

You obviously do it all day every day, so just ahead and continue.

If you had any experience whatsoever, then you could tell that the original post shows signs, and uses phrases, directly attributed to clinical depression. Something that you, quite obviously, in your perfect little existence know absolutely nothing about.

OP: Seek help. Feel free to Trust me as I've been through the worst parts as you describe, and continue to manage it. Life isn't a box of chocolates, but there's ways of not just being sick all over it as you may want to. To others reading, the "not having the guts to end it" is just another factor in the depression: The will to live and love overrides, but the rest of the voices continue to tell you that you're just a coward -- you can't do it because you're a gutless, spineless, waste of space. It's an absolute war of wills within your own mind, and something you have to deal with day by day. Honestly OP -- if you need to, Trust me.

Kwerk: Go **** yourself.

I hope you never have to endure depression or feel suicidal you ****.

Some really insensitive posts up in here.

Thanks =)

I'll remember all those people who were goaded into suicide when they turned to the internet. Not smart to turn to the internet. Go to your GP.

Clearly neither of you have suffered from depression, nor understand it. You can't just "man up", you are in a completely different place psychologically. It's not the same as being down or annoyed or sad. It's anxiety, paranoia, a deep sense of bleakness and emotional deadening. You can't just "man up" because you have no desire to or even see the need to. It's like trying to start a car with no petrol.

A lot of people who are depressed don't even know they are depressed. When I went through depression I didn't even realise I had been depressed till after it was over. I'd say most of the people who go round saying "I'm depressed" actually aren't.

Just to add to the thread, I thought I'd post some lyrics that helped me out when I've been in a dark place:

I'm afraid of the dark,
'specially when I'm in a park
And there's no-one else around,
Ooh, I get the shivers
I don't want to see a ghost,
It's a sight that I fear most
I'd rather have a piece of toast
And watch the evening news

Life, oh life, oh life, oh life,
doo, doot doot dooo.
Life, oh life, oh life, oh life,
doo, doot dooo

I'm a superstitious girl,
I'm the worst in the world
Never walk under ladders,
I keep a rabbit's tail

I'll take you up on a dare,
Anytime, anywhere
Name the place, I'll be there,
Bungee jumping, I don't care!

Life, oh life, oh life, oh life,
doo, doot doot dooo.
Life, oh life, oh life, oh life,
doo, doot dooo

life, doo, doot dooo
doo, doot dooo

So after all is said and done
I know I'm not the only one
Life indeed can be fun, if you really want to

Sometimes living out your dreams,
Ain't as easy as it seems
You wanna fly around the world,
In a beautiful balloon

Life, oh life, oh life, oh life,
doo, doot doot dooo.
Life, oh life, oh life, oh life,
doo, doot dooo

Hang in there!

Oh and I suppose you have lived an unsheltered life and are here to tell us all about it. Thanks for informing us about this fact

Try not to drink again OP, if only to stop all of these dull posts and posters coming out of the woodwork.

ok I can admit I was wrong. I know depression can be a physiological problem with the brain chemistry and you can need drugs to fix it, in which case it's probably biologically impossible to "sack up".

Sorry to OP.

I will say this though, which is kind of what I was trying to say before, I believe a lot of depression can come from a lack of adversity in life. That's why so many musicians and people like that get depressed and kill themselves. Suddenly life is simply too easy and it messes with them. Obviously depression can come from TOO MUCH adversity as well. But like anything you have to be in the "just right" zone to be healthy.

if you have enough adversity in life to keep you busy and feeling like you're fighting a worthwhile fight, you dont have time to dwell on stuff like this in a negative way, and those kind of problems seem more trivial.

So to OP I would say take up some kind of "struggle" and see if that helps. Could be as simple as running or hiking.

I agree with Kwerk. We need to feel that we are being productive in life and that we are improving our situation, and beating our problems.
