Lo all, just wondering if anyone knows of any lighthearted webcomics which they could recommend to read. I know there are websites which list quite a few, but there have been only two which I have actually found decent and funny:

'Squidi- A modest destiny' was this first one I read, and although the first 10 or so strips start out average I began to love the subtle humor of the strip from where Gilbert', the guy with the orange hair appears. So if you have a few minutes and are bored you may enjoy it. Goes downhill when it gets serious though. Heres the link for the first one:

The other was Dr. McNinja, of which the first one is pretty average as well, but the second one is great :D Archive:

I find parody comics pretty tiresome, so please no Penny Arcade, Ctrl Alt Del or VGcats please!

Thanks in advance :)

Ta for the replies. The dinosaurs thing was a bit... random to say the least, not quite what I was looking for.

I'm looking for something slightly story based, well, more along the lines of 'A Modest Destiny'. There are so many 'joke' comics like Red vs Blue, which whilst are funny, I don't find very rewarding.

Something that is however a great example of what I am on about is Kid Radd, can't believe I forgot that one. It starts off with fairly cheap shot jokes but it soon expands into this EPIC story which was a great read! Heres the first one:

Something which was very dark and quite disturbing in places but had a cheeky bit of humor within was The Starlight Calioup, which now seems to have been renamed whistles and they are charging for it!!! :(

Admittedly, it was amazing...

dinosaur comics is my absolute favourtie. I have the professor science t shirt :)

Also good: whiteninja comics and a softer world (if only for joey comaeu's "over-qualified")

yet the first one you link to is a parody.
I don't think so at all.

Most of the jokes are irrelevant to any sort of culture. In fact I'd say 99% of the strips are devoid of culture jokes.

isometric.spaceninja.com was the bo-shizznat about six or seven years ago...Not been into it so much since it moved to sixsided...The archives seem corrupted and you can't view by theme :/
