Light Module

Hello,
I have a small light module which plugs into a 3-pin fan header on the motherboard. It has an adhesive back and should be placed near the ram for a lighting effect. I would just like to know whether things like this can be plugged in with the PC powered on?

Like Will_3rd says not a particularly good plan, just shut down and install then power up again. It will only take a few minutes but is a whole lot safer (for your PC anyway).
