Our front room is long and we have two main pendant lights each end, one end is more like a pc area and the other end is a TV area with the sofas and a lamp.
Hue bulbs throughout.
The lampshades we have on the main lights are these:

Had them since we redecorated last year.
No bottom on them and no kind of light diffuser, which doesn't bother me the other end of the room but where i sit to watch TV, its above me between me and the TV so glares me really bad so most of the time i turn it off.
Considering changing them, the wife gets mad if i turn that one off and just use the lamp next to the sofa because its quite dark then.
Other options i've considered are buying some kind of plastic diffuser to fit under the bulb and spread the light a little, or buying more hue bulbs such as a light strip behind the tv, bloom and a couple more lamps/table lamps to get more light into that end of the room that doesnt glare me or reflect off the tv.
What would you guys do?

Have you considered uplighters for living room, with indirect light much more homely/intimate, ones on stands can be optimally located to optimise reading/tv needs
[ rx7 led bulbs 14W/1800lm, not yet up there with 6000lm, albeit 70W, non-led]
