Light up your life!

Looking at the top one the specs say:

- Saves approx 80% more energy compared to a standard bulb
- Power Consumption: 4.5W (Typical)

If it saves 80% and consumes 4.5W, that means they are comparing it to a 22W bulb. Are these really only that bright?

That calculation would be based on a 'normal' lightbulb being 100% efficient, a 100W bulb doesn't produce '100W' worth of light. A lot of energy is lost to heat.

Hey guys,

Want to save money? Upgrade your home lighting to LED technology. There is an inital cost involved, however the average home can ave around £700 per year on their electric bills with these fully kitted out.

Hi guys, I used to work at the Lighting Association Laboratory in Telford and believe me, I had tested all these latest new bulbs and they are brilliant, superb and last longer in lifespan. Far even better than energy saver bulbs.
And these are a truely saving on your electricity bill, if you fit all these bulbs in every household. Expensive to buy but it worth it.

There called LAMPS not bulbs
i would like to know who has a bulb shade.

*facepalm* It's "they're".

A lamp is a light fixture, a bulb is a component of a lamp/light fixture, a light fixture without a bulb can't emit light, a light bulb without a fixture, can't emit light.
