Just updated to version 3.2 and can say straight off that they've fixed the slowness issues. I can now switch between images, zoom in and change modes just as quickly as 2.7 :) all is good in the world again! Highly recommend updating if you haven't already!

catalogs and pre-sets compatible with v2.2??

would consider the upgrade for the noise feature. Is it really as good as the reviews say?

Just downloading it now... fingers crossed it fixers them as I'm sick of the BSOD every couple of times I use it...

One thing they still need to change is adding anti-aliasing to the watermark tool. It looks too rough compared to doing it in photoshop.

They've added a shedload of lens corrections too, previously the 100-400mm L zoom from Canon was missing and the 100mm f/2.8 Macro (though when applied it seems the correction for this lens is so subtle that I cannot work out what it does!)

Went from 2 to 3.0 and not had any issues with slowness or crashes although 3 BETA had a lot of crashes - Updating to 3.2 now!

Thats 99% your hardware, not it.

Lightroom (all versions) have never once crashed on me that I recall!

I've actually disabled the catalog backups im that happy with it :p

Good stuff, according to the release notes they've sorted the problem with it insisting on reexpanding folders that have been previously closed. It's a minor thing I know but it bugs the **** out of me.

Arh, thats better... :)

Upgraded last night from 2.2 to 3.2 and it loads better. much faster to start and to load images, none of the 'loading' at the bottom on the image for a few minutes, BAM your in :)

Love it.

everything upgraded without issues. very pleased :)

Had a play with the trial with Lightroom and I'm impressed.

What's the cheapest LEGIT way to get it?

I got a copy of MS Office 2007 for £25 as my daughter is in full time education and the license covers anyone in the immediate families use - anything similar with Adobe? I have found a Student and Teacher Edition but there is no mention of families in the license.

From what I remember of reading the license I think the student & teacher one is only for use by the person in question unfortunately. In the end I just went for the full one at about £215 from amazon.. price has gone up now though:(
