Lightroom Image Import Query

Hopefully somebody has found the answer to this before, as Google has failed me.

After import my CR2 files into Lightroom 5, I find all the first letters of the filename have been change to _. So IMG652.cr2 becomes _MG652.cr2.

It's been doing this for months, but looking back in my library, it didn't always do it. Anybody know why?

I'm not totally sure, but it may have something to do with the colour space in camera (sRGB or Adobe RGB), I seem to remember reading somewhere that if you use adobe the I is snipped from the filename, however I could be wrong.

Simon's right; if the camera is set to shoot in Adobe RGB, the first character becomes an underscore (even if you've set your own custom prefix in place of "IMG" in-camera). If you check the files on the card you'll see that's how the camera has saved them. Lightroom's import renaming options are handy enough that you can have it automatically change back (or to something more descriptive) if it's not to your liking.
