Hi guys,

I'm having some problems with lightroom seemingly exporting pictures at extremly bad quality compared to an export from Canons DPP software, if you check the pic below you can see the one on the left is from lightroom (apart from a quick tweak of the exposure) no settings have been changed. Theyre both just direct exports.

Anyone know what might be going on??

Thanks!!

ps. the one on the right doesnt look great but thats the jpeg compression from the screen grab...looks tack sharp on my monitor!!

pps. they look very bad quality in lightroom too, when im developing!!

ppps. lol......Ive added some screengrabs with the photos inside their respective software....

The difference is that Canons DPP software is applying processing settings to your image and Lightroom isn't.
Lightroom is not a full image editor.

thanks for the quick reply....so its just a case of playing with the settings? didnt think either would have a preset rule for processing straight from import!

The sharpening in Lightroom (as at v1.3) is not strong. The workflow is designed for capture and for output processing to be done in Photoshop.
