Having had a look at reviews etc for Adobe Lightroom it would appear that this is by far a much better tool than Photoshop Elements 5 which I am currently using. One question I do have however, is regarding multiple machine use. if I have LR installed on both a desktop and laptop with the laptop being used while away for several days at a time, are you able to synchronise any changes to images and the database you make on the laptop with the desktop when you return home?

In addition, in terms of workflow, how do users of LR and Photoshop integrate the two applications into your digital imaging workflow?

Lightroom has a database file it keeps (as default under my pictures). This database has the paths to your pictures etc and stores all the other info about ratings etc.

I should think you'll have little to no problems with using both machines, just sync the database between the two along with the images and you should be fine.

Lightroom and Photoshop integrate well. Any image you want to edit more than lightroom can help with, you just right click and click "Edit with Photoshop" it will then ask if you want to edit the original or edit a copy which stacks with the original to keep it neat.
