Im wondering what is the great firewall and or AV software at present.

I used to use NOD32. Then I Began with ESS, and its great, but not as light as it used to be, or doesnt feel that way.

So, as Im currently inbetween licences. Is their anything being raved about at present. Ideally plays nice with online games.

Windows firewall and any modern AV that isn't Norton. Any modern PC isn't going to even feel any of the current AV products.

What OS are you using? If Windows 7 I would say windows firewall and MS Security Essentials..... I always used Kaspersky or NOD32 AV and windows firewall prior to that on XP and Vista, obviously I have my router firewall as well.

Win 7 ya. Just windows Firewall? really?

My PC has plenty of juice, that I agree. But I still dont like heavy programs, guess its the old school in me.

But MS Security Essentials? for real??

As for Norton, I wouldnt use that haha. Got bitten by that about 10 years ago!

I just remember when NOD32 came out it lit the world up with its small footprint. If MS firewall is man enough, maybe Ill just use NOD32 again.

Seriously, MS Security Essentials, I've been using it since Win 7 official release on 2 PC's at home along with windows firewall..... it as picked up all the nasties from the websites my kids go on inadvertently in search of cheats for XBox and DS games etc, and my misses is so computer illiterate that she would click any link no matter how dubious!
