Im getting the following speeds below but tempted to change my set up which will allow gigabit speeds/conection. Just wandering what that turn out to be within W7 under a file transfer....

Thinking of upgraiding to a TL-WR1043ND http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details/?model=TL-WR1043ND

My NAS can then plug directly into that and it can also be a ''switch'' as and when im wired in!

I coppied the Top Gear S18 folder which has the 1st 3 EP's that I have pulled in HD off BBC iPlayer service DRM Free :), 3.44GB

NAS is WD My WorldBook (white one), router - modem is a Netgear DG834 DGTeam FW and the WIFI AP on this test is a TP-Link TL-WA801ND

I've noticed that the transfer speed of any mbit/gbit connections are huuuugely dependant on your router unfortunately.

The above was done with the WD Mywoldbook pluged directly to the laptops gigabit port! CAT6E cable, 1M in length, latest drivers for the NIC. Jumbro frames set to max (9000 or 900 i forget).

A decent proper NAS will help and is what im going to do

LOL pryopete and the file name does not point to anything untoward at all!

Theory says you should get better speeds but it depends on your access point and the speed of your NAS

Nope, it's how you obtain them that begs the question! Having them doesn't!!!

AP...? NO AP present. Just a 1M CAT 6 from laptop to NAS
