Any tips how to remove limescale from bottom of u bend toilet? I left toilet duck overnight and it's taken a couple of bits off. But still fair amount left.

I've put one of those soluble blue tabletsin the cistern thinking that would loosen up, hasn't done anything.

Chuck a load of baking soda in, then put some white vinegar in. What it foam up, give it a bit of a scrub with the toilet brush and leave it overnight. Use it in ours and works a treat.

Citric acid works a treat, but don't over pay for it you can buy a big bag of it for a couple of quid from a Asian food store normally, I pay about £4 per Kg and it is food grade. Also best tip is to boil your kettle first dissolve it in that, and it will clean that, then pour kettle of of hot water down the toilet and leave it over night, it will be as clean as new in the morning

I struggled clearing limescale with both citric acid and vinegar - I guess it was just super baked on.

So if they don't work for you a stronger solution is brick acid (or more specifically hydrochloric acid which it contains). I used https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001GUA4L8

Get as much water out of the toilet bowl as possible. You can fashion some sort of small container to pail it out or if you vigourously swish a toilet brush around enough it will eventually force all the water out leaving you with a pretty empty toilet. Then just pour in brick acid to bring it back up to the normal water level and leave it for 12 hours or so.

Wear safetly glasses as it's nasty stuff.

edit: as above :D

I recently got this delivered

Can be had on Amazon but works out a few quid more expensive from same company.

Edit, trying amazon link, tried the bay but it just came up pardon the interruption???

£20 for 5kg bucket of it, cheaper if I wanted big plastic bag full so just spent the extra for the bucket :D

Edit
The 5kg bag can be had for £15.75 with free delivery but unless you already have something to put it in a bucket will prob run ya the difference anyway.

First thing I done was parents kettle, big chunks of limescale at the bottom.

That's a bit self defeating. Use either one or the other, as baking soda is alkali, white vinegar is acidic. If you mix them you are neutralising whatever cleaning effect they have, leaving only the visual foaming action.

Yeah this. When I tried using vinegar I emptied the toilet bowl and filled it with vinegar and left it overnight, then put a load of baking soda in so it foamed up and did some extra cleaning then left it a bit before flushing.

If you pour the soda onto the vinegar the vinegar basically disappears.

Can also use a sponge to get the last dregs of water out.

When you say toilet duck, was it specifically for limescale removal, or just a toilet cleaner? You need the ones labeled as limescale remover. Use toilet brush to plunge most of the water out of the bowl and then dump half a bottle in and leave it over night. Next day give it a good scrub and it should come off.

Also you should just get limescale remover in place of toilet cleaner to keep on top of it. It does the same job as toilet cleaner and is around the same price, but also stops any limescale from building up.

Use it loads, does many things very well. Its the chemical reaction that makes it work.

There just as many links that disprove that
