Limitations of my CPU for 4k gaming

This threads been really useful, especially now understand the impact CPUs have on 1% lows. Still going to get the new GPU and just see if performance is far worse than I expect and if not I'll wait until it's noticeable.

I do recognise that a 5080 would be considerably bottlenecked by a 9700k, however if it's still always hitting my max fps, I'm very unlikely to upgrade until something dies

Might also be good to just roam around on youtube and see if there are similar comparisons for cpu’s in the specific games you play, because it can vary a lot

Depends on the game. In Dragons Dogma 2/Stalker 2/Space Marine 2 and other CPU demanding titles the more modern CPUs would destroy the 9700K, especially as it only has 8 threads.

I'm hesitant to pair a 5070ti/5080 with my 5800x as I see it bottlenecking my regular 3080 10GB in a few titles.
