Limited connectivity but still can use internet etc

- I don't think its a problem with my ethernet as it is fairly new (a month old)
- When i had my wifi card it still had the same problem and couldn't access the virgin media router settings page
- My ethernet goes from my router directly to the port in the back of my PC

(also thanks for all the suggestions thenewoc :))

No worries.

Not sure where you're getting different DNS IP from to your gateway if it's not configured to be different in the Ethernet Properties so I've done some screen shots of how mine is on W8.

Does your router have a WAN Ethernet port, which would be intended for the modem to connect to, have you connected your PC to this port perhaps? Do you get the same problem if you connect to a different port on the router?

- Your settings are exactly the same as mine (except that there are two extra options for the checklist in the "Ethernet Properties" windows
- I don't think my router has a WAN port as all of the ports look the same and i have tried different ports but still the same "limited" problem
- My IP address in cmd is 192.168.0.1

I'VE FIXED IT!!!!

I went onto Services and scrolled down to "Windows Event Log" and clicked on "Properties" and changed it from Disabled to Automatic! Then the limited sign has vanished!

I saw the solution on a youtube video
