The info is incorrect the CPU section says: Intel Core i7 8700K Hyperthreaded Six Core Processor Overclocked to at least 4.9GHz On the bundle deal.
 
I don't really agree with all this 5GHz out of the box if it's only a single core boost speed...

It's basically a binned 8700k, and still requires delidding if you want 5ghz+ across all cores with decent temps.

Do I take it from this that this means all the 8700K's were speed binned to be collected up for this "Special edition" that Intel expect us to pay more money for ?
(I'm in no way blaming OcUK I'm just interested if anyone actually knows)

If Meaker is correct in his "Turbo" levels, isnt that the same as for the 8700K apart from the final step has been bumped from 47 to 50 ? (How often do tasks load one Core only and allow it to that speed? )

So its basically pay for a guaranteed single core overclock?

Suddenly it doesn't seem so impressive.
 
Not sure on exact specs but it's only £30 more. Anyone in the market for an 8700K might as well pick one of these up. It's a better chip for just £30 more. Who knows, it might even retain its value better.

well even the "ordinary" 8700k is 4.7G single boost and the mobo makers like asus are making it "all core 4.7g boost". So I would expect this to 5G all core boost too.

That would probably require solder on the die though, and this is Intel here. :P
