US: Limitless

Just watched and I thought it was great, chick from Dexter is playing a cop again I see. She gonna get type cast!

This was fantastic, love that fact they are tying Bradley Cooper in it as well. Great pilot, looking forward to the rest of series I hope it goes good! but I feel like it's going to be a police drama.

I hope it's not going to turn into a different take on White Collar, it certainly sets up like it. Thought the main character is going to be kicking butt and making something amazing but now he is stuck pretty much, at least until an episode where they reveal he has a plan all along somewhere down the line no doubt.

Give it time, a lot of shows these days take the Person of Interest approach. Some formulaic episodes, particularly to start with. But it weaves a very interesting web for a story arch.

What they have to work with certainly lends itself to an idea of loads of clues scattered around episodes that come together nicely throughout and have a large bang at the end.

Did you guys watch a different episode?

Half way through the first episode and both the GF and I are unimpressed so far. It's just the film, again.

Edit: oh great, and now it's ruined the end of the film for me too :(

? Why would you compare it to a film you haven't seen, or watch a series based on the film and not expect spoilers.

I didn't, I have seen the film, hence the 'again' bit.

I liked the idea that NZT had made him a better man, and at the end he was able to unlock his potential and do good things and outsmart the bad guy without needing to rely on the drugs. But turns out he wasn't, he was on it all the time.

I thought the end of the film just had it that he was smart enough to make his own pill and didn't need the bad guy

After watching the second episode i think i'm going to like this. It is annoying that it's limited :p by being yet another cop+quirky partner show but ignoring that it's been good so far.

Yeah that's what I thought, based on the fact he spoke another language again.
He had managed to make a new pill and the bad guy was trying to shut down his labs to stop him, but he double bluffed him by saying he didn't need it, and that the bad guy wasn't a match for him anyway because of his weak heart etc.

Second episode switched the tone slightly and I think I like it. Nice dash of humor, it has echos of early Castle episodes for all the reasons I liked it.

The last two episodes past the pilot were quite inconsistent. It is effectively cop + magic sidekick show, but it's like he becomes slightly stoner-like and infantile after the pill. With zero retention afterwards. So much good stuff could be done with plot and in the end - it's all about local crime problems close to home.

Turned episode 2 off half-way through last night.

Quite liked the first one though.

Same here. Thought I'd give it a go but it's turned into yet another copy with sidekick drama! I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and try a couple more episodes..
