I think the price alone will carve them out a niche. The nearest competitor with 6 bays, all flash and same processor and far less RAM and without Unraid is £479.

Yeah I think retail price is £276. This £236 is for supporter backers. Still great either way. When I get my unit I'll post impressions.

I did. I wasn't happy with the fan at launch, it was awful and not silent/quiet, everything else was great. I believe (but can't confirm they changed the BIOS fan profile.

Interestingly though I got an email offering to give me $24 if I updated the BIOS and sent them a screen shot (look like it went to everyone).

I made my own DIY server in the end I'm very happy with and completely silent.

Might just be me, but this seems like a bit of a pointless product... Unraid recommends against using ssds in the array at all, as trim would break the parity calculation, so I'm not quite sure who/what this is aimed at

Depends on how you use Unraid. A parity disk isn't a necessity.

SSD's are supported in Unraid now for the array. This is an officially licenced product after all. I had a full SSD array with a parity drive for the last few months.
