Hi,

Just a quick one -

Does anyone know if there is some 'line of sight' software out there, where you type in 2 OS grid references and it tells you if there is a line of sight between the two, or if there is a massive hill in the way?

Bit random I know, but OCUK is after all the fountain of all knowledge.

Cheers:D

Well... I don't know of any specialist software...

But OS data you download off mapping services includes height data. Could be opened in autocad, Draw a 3d polyline between points and see if it hits anything:)

Or, get an OS map, plot points, and count contours between the two. With a bit of trigonometry you should be able to work it out...

Something I'm working on at the moment...

If I had XYZ coordinates of each point, can draw a line and see what it hits.

Hadn't thought of cad..being utterly useless at it, it's probably not the best idea!

When you say your working on it, your making something that'd do this?

Stick a gui on to add coordinates and i'd pay for something like that:D
