ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 3680 kbps 896 kbps
Line Attenuation 52 db 15.5 db
Noise Margin 4 db 7 db

Do these connection speeds look ok, I have a sky DG384GT & a netgear DG384G V2 flashed to dgteam.

Is there anything I can do to improve the connection or is this as good as it gets, I'm on sky llu if it makes a difference. I am 3.21km from my local exchange.

I too am on sky llu and have got a 60db down attn and am getting this
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream Connection Speed 3065 kbps 796 kbps Line Attenuation 60.5 dB 37.4 dB Noise Margin 6.8 dB 7.3 dB
So you should be able to get better although your noise margin is quite low

Ok just flashed my sky DG834GT to dgteam and left on default settings and I was getting about the same but now I have connected to the test socket and I seem to be getting a better downstream connection speed,

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 5408 kbps 896 kbps
Line Attenuation 58.0 db 29.5 db
Noise Margin 7.4 db 8.0 db

I guess being this far from the exchange 5.4mbps downstream is as good as it is going to get.

I know the DG834GT has a slightly bulging teapo cap in it perhaps that is related. I may re test with both routers being plugged into the master socket and being plugged into the test socket.

Also what is the difference between the three different ADSL driver versions of the DGteam 1018 firmware?

He flashed to the DGteam firmware from the sky one, 58db is most likely his real attenuation.

Some users find a filter face plate is better than the filter dongle.

I use a ADSLNation XTE-2005 & in my case I got a whole 1.3mb increase in speed, but it's not guarantee though.

Also paste your stats in to this adsl2+ checker at Blueether, it will tell you a bit more about your line.

If the speed increased when connected direct to the internal TEST socket on the NTE5 then that sounds like noise pickup on the internal wiring of the house. Have you put any extensions in with your own wiring. IF just make sure you have only wires going to pins 2 and 5 anything else will cause noise.

I know has I had the same with a TalkTalk line I have, would only connect with ADSL2 at first MAX speed 2.2mbps. Checked the main NTE5 socket, removed the un-needed wires from the socket and in the 2 extensions and hay presto got ADSL2 PLUS connection at 5.6mbps!!! and thats with the standard D-Link box supplied by TalkTalk.
