Linkedin?

Very useful if used correctly. I was contacted about my current job though LinkedIn, researched the guy interviewing me through LinkedIn and was able to establish we had some mutual contacts who I was able to reference. I also introduced myself to the other guy they were interviewing in Reception, found out his name and looked him up on LinkedIn on my phone whilst I was waiting and was able to establish that I was far better qualified which made me more confident in the interview.
