Linksys any good ?

do you have any evidence to back this up?

Linksys routers don't run IOS, for starters, and most of the Linksys routers run a completely different architecture to the Ciscos I've seen (MIPS vs PPC).

And just to put the record straight!

Other than saying what we've already said, that Linksys is a Cisco subsidiary, it proves jiggly squat.

Buy a Linksys, you aren't getting a Cisco. The End.

Speaks the Truth, its like comparing Fiat and Ferarri

They're not bad. I've got the Linksys WRT54GS v4 router at home though I've heard there was an issue with P2P on them, though I've not had any issues. I think the only problem is not enough space for all the port forwarding I want to do for various games/applications.

I just enable DMZ insted and use software based firewall.

i think with this type of OP it is very subjective. I would say that Linksys are great and from the experience I have had with speedtouch routers are also good as well. But belkin I just don't like, they seem to be very flakey and are very hit and miss or maybe that is just the ones I have worked with.

I personally would say that Linksys are very good. I have never had a problem with my WRT54GS v8 (i think its a vsworks based unit) I had a adsl2mue which was rubbish at anything higher than adsl2 speeds (even with the 4.19 beta bios for ADSL2+) and the UI for it was hit and miss as well (a very poorly supported product by linksys) I have used my linksys and Speedtouch (510v6) for the best part of 9 months now and have never had a problem it is rock stable and runs 24/7 with no outages at all.
