Linksys mesh system, no ethernet from parent node

Hi all

I've just got a Linksys mesh system, which on the whole has been fantastic so far.

However my study PC is currently connected by ethernet cable into my TalkTalk router, but when I connect it instead to the parent node plugged into my TalkTalk router, I get no network or internet from it.

I need the study PC to be on the same network as the wireless machines and printer etc. on the network.

I get ethernet fine from a child node, but this is wireless rather than hard wired into the router.

So to reiterate the parent node is connected to the TalkTalk router with ethernet but I get no ethernet connection from the parent node.

Any ideas gratefully received, thank you.

Which of their mesh systems is it?

Can you run in bridge mode (AP)? You'd lose some features but end up with everything on the same subnet as the TalkTalk router.

Thanks for the reply. It's the 'Linksys WHW0303 Velop Tri-Band Whole Home Mesh WiFi System (AC2200)'.

Running it as a bridge might be a good shout, thanks, I'll look into it.

Still confused why I get no ethernet from the parent node though, most weird as everything I can find says it should work from any node.

Are you connecting your TalkTalk router to the Ethernet port on the left, and your PC to the one on the right? This is the way round Community Fibre think it should be connected:

Thank you. as it happens I am connecting it like that, but on my Velop model the word 'Ethernet' spans both ports and there are no markings denoting which is which, so I think it can be either?

I'll try swapping them just in case though.

Hi all.

Just to follow up on this, I changed the Velop to bridge mode and had no issues with the printer thereafter, all devices etc. were visible on the same network.

Still a mystery why ethernet didn't work from the parent node, but I've given up thinking about it now.

Thank you for the help.
