Hay all guys.

This thing doing my head in i can't get to work at all or even get my pc to detect it :(

http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Sate...826619&pagename=Linksys/Common/VisitorWrapper

I connected it to my pc by ethernet cable and used setup program but it always says

( setup utility was unable to locate an wireless game adapter on your network)

I reset it i check all the cables i am not sure what i can do to get this thing to work :(

Any help would be great :D

Thanks

You probably need to connect it to your router, or the network card the adapter's connected to would need to have a DHCP server bound to it.

Thanks tolien

The thing i am trying to do if it even works at all is

NTL Cable modem connected to ethernet port 1 on my motherboard

Then connect the linksys to ethernet port 2 and make shared connection

So i can use the linksys to send out wireless signal for the laptop to pickup and connect to the net ?

I am probs using the wrong tool for the job but i got it for free so i thought id give it a go lol

Are you running ICS already? It'll handle the DHCP bit, so it would work from there.

The adapter won't work as a wireless AP so it's pretty useless, especially given it'll only do WEP. According to the manual you can make it do ad-hoc mode and you could talk a machine into connecting to it.

They sell for ~£30, so you'd be as well flogging it and buying a router.

Thanks

Yeah guess i have to get a the proper cable router then hehe

cheers

(edit)

All is not lost i forgot what the main reason the linksys wGA54G is used for to connect console to wireless network :D

So when i do get a cable wireless router i was reading that the linksys wGA54G can be used the same as the
official xbox 360 wireless adapter hence saving me 50 pounds or what ever the price it is now :)

Just not sure how better more the xbox 360 adapter then the linksys one i have.
