Linksys WRT54GL GUI problem

Trying to get tomato firmware on my Linksys WRT54GL and I go to http://192.168.1.1/ but when I try and enter any username/password it just keeps coming up with the authentication screen. I've tried

username: {blank}/root/admin
password: admin

Any ideas what is infact the correct login? The above were on the tomato readme & wiki.

Silly question, but have you or another person with access changed the password to something that's not the default?

If that's the case and since you're nuking all the data on it anyway, use the hardware reset button on the back to reset it to default, then try the default password again.

EDIT: Also, as a precaution, it's wise to disconnect all other devices from the router and connect directly from your machine over hard wire. Definitely don't attempt to flash the firmware over the wireless connection.

Nope, only got it yesterday so haven't played about with it. I'll have a look for the reset button

Upgraded to Tomato firmware but download speed has gone from 20mb to 10mb. Is there some settings I need to change in the firmware?
