Appears to have turned up overnight middle of the room and is a bubble about a foot and a half across raised over 1cm in the middle.

Underneath is a cement/concrete floor and nothing is on top of it.

How the devil could that happen

Fixing seems to involve heat and something heavy with options on stabbing it and glue.

We moved into our house in May and over the past few months I've noticed our kitchen floor becoming "lumpy" and uneven.

Not sure why ours is doing it either, it's not in a particular spot either. Just random lumps.

I have no idea how it was done but it's been down for about 7 years, lino in kitchen and bathrooms were the only bits of flooring that came with the new build house.

Well there was definitely an air pocket. Dammed if I know how a large bubble of air appears middle of a floor between lino and concrete.

Stabbed a darning needle through about 5 times (still over a foot in diameter) and squashed it a bit til it wasnt hissing much.

Put an old wooden panel over it and as much loose heavy stuff as I could find which was only about 30kg but should be ok.

will get the iron out and see if it can stick itself down if heated up.

Well.

Tried the iron. Softened it somewhat.

Softened it enough to feel that this bulge was not in fact over solid concrete.

There's 1-2 flattish sections within the bulge area which are rocking slightly and the more I softened the lino the more I can feel the edges of them.

Goddammit I really don't wanna be taking up a floor of lino to find out what it is and why it suddenly made an air pocket under the lino.
