Linux compatible printers?

Hi

Are there some brands of printers that are better for drivers for Linux?

Any recomendations for a basic all in one printer?

Good question. I really want to get my canon i250 working in ubuntu. Ive tried the drivers from canon New Zealand, ive tried other drivers, searched Ubuntuforums.org, and nothing

I want to get this working because the cartridges are like £1 each.

Lexmark do some good cheap printers, but thats because in my experiance, the cartridges are like £25 each.

I think with linux, HP is a good bet. Ive borrowed my mates HP all in one printer and thats working fine atm, but i cant keep that forever!

Try here, clickety. My Epson Stylus Photo 830 (getting old now) works well (dunno how it compares with being used in Windows)

I have a kyocera FS-1030D, it works perfectly with windows and linux. Just needed the PPD file adding to my gentoo box.
