I'm having an ongoing problem in trying to install any version of any Linux Distro that I have attempted. I download the ISO, check the MD5 to make sure it's not a flawed copy, and then use UNetbootin to burn the ISO on to one of my flash drives. Then I reboot and from the boot menu, choose to boot from the used Flash Drive. However, that's where the problems begin, using Linux Mint 12 as the example as it's the main Distro that I want to install, I get the blue screen where I can choose to test the memory, default, check the integrity of the disc etc, however when I move on from there I get the following message which it stops on every time:
I have done some googling, but alas my skills appear to have failed me - the closest one I have found in regards to this issue is on the Linux Mint forums which has been unanswered. I was wondering if anybody on here had seen anything like this, or had any suggestions.
Computer Specs:
- i5 2500k @ stock.
- 16GB Corsair XMS3 DDR3 RAM @ 1600mhz.
- Asus P8Z68-V Motherboard.
- MSI GeForce 560Ti 1024GDDR5 GPU.
- OCZ 60GB Vertex 2 SSD.
- 250GB Western Digital 7200 HDD.
Things that I have tried:
- Ensuring that the ISO is perfect.
- Tried various ISOs including Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora and Linux Mint.
- Flashing the BIOS to the latest one and defaulting it.
- Three different Flash Drives, one of which had never been used.
I have run Linux before, however it wasn't on this motherboard, however I can't see the motherboard being an issue. I can run various distros in VirtualBox perfectly, however I am looking at a full-time Linux box and I don't want to have the hassle of having a Windows Install or having to virtualize everything.
Any help you can offer would be much appreciated.
