My card is a Belkin F5D7000v1, and ubuntu does seem to detect it ok, but I haven't figured out how to get it to connect to a wireless network (yet).

From some googling I have done it seems that you have a Ralink RT2560 chipset in that card, however
Code:
lspci
should confirm this.

as long as you don't have Fiesty Fawn and it is the ralink chipset this should help:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Driver/RalinkRT2500

If you have the broadcom chipset try:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Device/Broadcom_BCM4311_rev_01_(ndiswrapper)

please let us know how you get on.
