I pronounce it 'Lin-ux' on account of it not being lino, or anything to do with flooring. On that note, I'm not going to start jumping on anybody who pronounces it differently - where's the freedom in that?

I don't care how people pronounce it, I used to pronounce it wrong myself (along with other words and names, which I probably still do pronounce incorrectly), still doesn't make the wrong pronunciation right
Surely names are only correctly pronounced as intended by the person/people/language who named it. If Linus says it's Lin-ux, then it's Lin-ux. I've always known it to be Lin-ux. Not that i'm a definitive answer to the question.
